Thu Jan 02 11:18:50 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Police Arrest Three for Brutal Murder of Speech-Impaired Man
**CHENNAI, January 2, 2025** – Selaiyur police have arrested three men in connection with the brutal murder of a 21-year-old speech-impaired electrician. The victim, identified as Surya of Indira Nagar, Selaiyur, was found dead on December 31st in a vacant plot in Puthur, his head severed and limbs bound.
Police investigations revealed that Surya was involved in a drunken brawl with three suspects: K. Sabari Ganesan (25), D. Ayyappan (26), and N. Vijaya Prathap (23). Following the altercation, the suspects allegedly took Surya to one of their homes in an auto-rickshaw, where they beat him to death before dismembering his body and dumping it in the vacant lot. All three suspects have been apprehended and are currently in police custody. Surya’s body has been sent to Government General Hospital in Chromepet for post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
