**New Delhi, January 2, 2025** – Delhi residents awoke to a chilly Thursday morning shrouded in shallow fog. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a minimum temperature of 7.6°C, with Palam weather station recording zero visibility due to very dense fog since 6 a.m.
The IMD forecast predicts cold day conditions in isolated areas and dense fog in some locations throughout the day. While the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 16°C, smog and shallow fog are anticipated during the evening and night. Wednesday’s maximum temperature was 15°C, and the minimum was 7.4°C. Wind speeds are expected to increase to 12-14 kilometers per hour in the afternoon before decreasing to less than 8 kilometers per hour by evening.
