**NOIDA, INDIA – January 2, 2025** – All schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, encompassing Noida and Greater Noida, have been ordered closed until further notice due to a severe cold wave. The closure affects all schools up to Class 8, regardless of affiliation (CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, etc.).
The order, issued by the District Magistrate, cites dense fog and extreme cold as the reason for the closure. The District Basic Education Officer has mandated strict adherence, warning of consequences for non-compliance. While schools are closed, online classes are expected to continue, although details regarding their implementation haven’t been released yet.
This closure follows a recent order shutting down primary schools (up to Class 5) across Uttar Pradesh from December 31st to January 14th. However, this latest directive extends the closure to all schools up to Class 8 and remains in effect until further notice.
