**New Delhi, India/Cetinje, Montenegro/Gaza Strip –** The Supreme Court of India reopened after its winter recess on Thursday, with Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna wishing lawyers and litigants a happy new year. The CJI also addressed technical issues with the online case-listing system. Meanwhile, Montenegro is in mourning after a gunman killed at least 12 people, including two children, in a shooting rampage before taking his own life. Separately, an Israeli airstrike in Gaza has killed at least 10 Palestinians, including three children and two Hamas police officers.
The Montenegrin shooting followed a bar brawl in the western town of Cetinje. The 45-year-old perpetrator, Aco Martinovic, killed several people at the bar and at other locations before being surrounded by police. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The government has declared three days of national mourning. Martinovic had a history of violence and illegal weapons possession.
