Thu Jan 02 13:11:40 UTC 2025: ## West Bengal CM Accuses BSF of Allowing Infiltrators, Sparks Political Row

**Kolkata, India** – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has leveled serious accusations against the Border Security Force (BSF), claiming the paramilitary force is allowing infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state. Banerjee alleges that “goons” are being funneled through border areas like Islamampur, Sitai, and Chopra as part of a Union Government plot to destabilize West Bengal.

The BSF and the central government are yet to respond to these allegations. Banerjee’s claims emerged during an administrative meeting with district magistrates and other officials. She further criticized district magistrates for inaction, questioning why they haven’t protested alleged BSF mistreatment of women.

This follows a recent West Bengal Police bust of a fake passport racket, allegedly facilitating the entry of individuals who illegally crossed the porous border from Bangladesh. Banerjee stated she will send a protest letter to the central government.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar strongly condemned Banerjee’s accusations, calling them delusional. Majumdar countered that Banerjee’s administration is responsible for failing to provide land for border surveillance outposts and now blames its own officials for allowing infiltration to harm her party’s representatives. He questioned the sudden shift in her narrative, suggesting she is attempting to cover up wrongdoing within her own party.

The accusations come amidst heightened border security following the political changes in Dhaka. West Bengal shares a 2,272 km border with Bangladesh, a significant portion of the total India-Bangladesh boundary. The ongoing dispute highlights the complex political and security challenges along this sensitive border region.
