**Alwar, Rajasthan –** A seven-year-old girl, Ikraana, was tragically killed by a pack of stray dogs in a field near Alwar, Rajasthan, on Thursday. The incident has sparked outrage and fear among villagers who claim repeated complaints to authorities about the aggressive dogs have been ignored.
Ikraana was playing with five other children and her grandfather in the field when the grandfather briefly left for the market. Upon returning home in the evening, a pack of six to seven stray dogs attacked the children, focusing their assault on Ikraana.
Witnesses reported the dogs severely injured the girl, leaving her covered in blood. Nearby farmers, hearing her cries, rushed to the scene and transported her to a hospital in a tractor trolley. The dogs reportedly pursued the trolley for a considerable distance. Despite efforts to save her, Ikraana succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival at the hospital.
Villagers allege the dogs involved have a history of aggressive behavior towards both people and animals. They accuse the local Nagar Parishad (municipal council) of failing to act despite numerous complaints about the dangerous pack. The incident has prompted calls for immediate action to address the growing stray dog problem and prevent future tragedies.
