Mon Dec 30 20:37:10 UTC 2024: ## Three Arrested After MLA’s Fall at Kalur Stadium
**Kochi, Kerala:** Three men have been arrested in connection with the accident that injured Thiruvankur MLA Uma Thomas at the Kalur Stadium. Benny, a native of Mulanturutty and the stage constructor, Shemeer Abdul Raheem, CEO of Mridanga Mission, and Krishna Kumar, event manager for Oscar Events, were taken into custody. However, the charges against them are bailable offenses. The CEO and MD of Mridanga Vision had previously filed for anticipatory bail in the High Court.
MLA Thomas sustained serious injuries after falling from the VIP gallery during a Bharatanatyam performance titled “Mridanga Nadam.” The event, aiming for a Guinness World Record, was organized by actress Divya Unni. Minister for Culture, Saji Cherian, has stated that there were serious security lapses during the program.
