MANGALAGIRI, Andhra Pradesh – Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan criticized the response of the *Pushpa-2* film crew to a stampede at the movie’s premiere in Hyderabad on December 4th. The incident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her nine-year-old son hospitalized. Allu Arjun, the film’s star, was arrested and briefly jailed.

Mr. Kalyan stated that a more compassionate and timely response from the film’s team towards the victim’s family could have mitigated the negative fallout. He suggested that visiting the family immediately following the tragedy would have been more appropriate than the subsequent events, which he felt unfairly singled out Mr. Arjun to bear the full brunt of responsibility.

While acknowledging the arrest of Allu Arjun and the actions taken by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Mr. Kalyan defended Mr. Reddy’s actions, asserting that the law applies equally to everyone. He highlighted that despite the arrest, *Pushpa-2* continued to run benefit shows with increased ticket prices, resulting in significant revenue for the film. Mr. Kalyan further noted the personal relationships between Mr. Reddy and several actors, including Mr. Arjun, emphasizing that there was no reason for the Chief Minister to act vindictively.
