Mon Dec 30 23:50:00 UTC 2024: ## AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Responds to Allu Arjun Stampede Incident
AMARAVATI, INDIA – Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has finally commented on the stampede at Sandhya Theater and the subsequent arrest of actor Allu Arjun. Speaking to the media in Mangalagiri, Kalyan stated that the situation was overblown, comparing it to using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Kalyan acknowledged the tragedy resulting in the death of Revathi, expressing sorrow and criticizing the lack of immediate support from Allu Arjun’s representatives to the victim’s family. He highlighted the absence of a humane response and the resulting public anger. He stressed that while Allu Arjun may feel remorse, blaming him solely is incorrect; the incident involved a team effort, and the theater staff also bears responsibility.
Kalyan drew a contrast with Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s supportive approach to the film industry, citing his role in boosting film collections through ticket price increases and facilitation of benefit shows for films like “Pushpa 2” and “Salaar.” He suggested the film industry needs to introspect and improve. He also mentioned the need for better infrastructure in areas like Papikondalu and Vizianagaram, which offer scenic locations for film shooting, and the development of story-telling schools to enhance film quality.
Kalyan also noted that while he doesn’t fully know the details of the incident, the law is equal for everyone, and he doesn’t fault the police for prioritizing safety. He recalled similar situations in the past involving Chiranjeevi, emphasizing the need for the industry to address safety concerns collectively.
