Mon Dec 30 17:38:22 UTC 2024: **Left Parties Demand Amit Shah’s Dismissal Over Ambedkar Remarks**
VIJAYAWADA, Andhra Pradesh – Left parties in Andhra Pradesh staged a protest on Monday, December 30th, demanding the dismissal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly insulting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The protest, part of nationwide demonstrations, followed Mr. Shah’s comments in Parliament on Constitution Day.
CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna stated that Mr. Shah’s remarks revealed the BJP’s true intentions and those of the RSS, alleging a plan to dismantle the democratic system through measures like simultaneous elections. CPI(M) State secretary V. Srinivas Rao echoed these sentiments, calling for Mr. Shah’s resignation and an apology. He criticized Prime Minister Modi for supporting Mr. Shah despite benefiting from the Constitution drafted by Dr. Ambedkar.
Several other left party leaders spoke out, accusing both the BJP and Congress of attempting to divide the nation by defaming Dr. Ambedkar. They called for a strengthening of the people’s movement and urged secular and democratic forces to protect people’s rights. The protesters also questioned Prime Minister Modi’s silence on the matter.
