Mon Dec 30 18:04:47 UTC 2024: ## CPI Demands Maharashtra Minister’s Dismissal Over “Mini-Pakistan” Kerala Remark

**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, December 30, 2024** – The Communist Party of India (CPI) has called for the immediate dismissal of Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane from the state cabinet. This follows Rane’s controversial labeling of Kerala as “mini-Pakistan,” a statement the CPI deems “communally poisonous” and a violation of the Constitution’s federal principles.

CPI State secretary Binoy Viswam issued a statement condemning the remark, highlighting its reflection of the BJP’s alleged ideological bankruptcy and adherence to casteist principles. Viswam asserted that the BJP, grounded in Manusmriti ideology, lacks the understanding of Kerala’s communal harmony. He expressed doubt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Amit Shah would take corrective action and urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance of the matter.

Congress general secretary K C Venugopal echoed these sentiments, demanding that Prime Minister Modi address the remarks and calling for Rane’s disqualification for violating his oath of office with his “divisive remarks.”
