Mon Dec 30 16:40:16 UTC 2024: ## Union Minister Accuses Telangana Congress of Massive Commission Racket
**Karimnagar, Telangana –** Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, launched a blistering attack on the ruling Congress party in Telangana on Monday, accusing its leaders of demanding exorbitant commissions—ranging from 8% to 14%—to approve pending bills. He specifically highlighted the plight of approximately 12,000 former sarpanches (village heads) whose pending bills, totaling ₹1300 crore, remain unpaid, leaving them in dire financial straits.
Addressing the media, Mr. Sanjay alleged that the commission racket is widespread, with a portion of the ill-gotten gains reportedly being funneled to the Congress high command in Delhi. He criticized the government’s failure to address this issue and its broken promise to release the pending payments to the gram panchayats.
The Minister urged the affected former sarpanches to ensure the Congress party’s defeat in the upcoming gram panchayat elections. His comments follow a meeting with a delegation of former sarpanches who sought his intervention to resolve the payment issue. Mr. Sanjay claims that some honest ministers within the Congress party are internally opposing these corrupt practices.
