**Kochi, Kerala:** MLA Uma Thomas, who suffered injuries after falling from a gallery at the Kalur stadium during a dance performance, is showing signs of improvement. Family members reported that she has been able to move her limbs and has attempted to open her eyes after being initially unconscious. Doctors are optimistic about her recovery.
Meanwhile, the Palarivattom police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident: Krishna Kumar, manager of Oscar Events management company which arranged the venue and stage; Benny, a resident of Mulanturutty who constructed the stage; and Shamir Abdul Rehim, CEO of Mridang Vision, the event organizer. The Managing Director, Nikhosh Kumar, and event management owner P.S. Janeesh have filed anticipatory bail pleas in the High Court.
The incident, which occurred during a large-scale dance performance attended by over 12,000 people, including ministers, has exposed serious lapses in safety and organization. A preliminary fire force investigation revealed significant negligence on the part of the organizers. Mridang Vision, the main organizer, faces severe criticism for allegedly collecting crores of rupees from attendees without providing adequate infrastructure or safety measures. The event highlighted a failure to implement sufficient security protocols and arrangements.
