Mon Dec 30 14:11:04 UTC 2024: ## Pushpa 2 Stampede: Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Calls for Earlier Outreach to Victim’s Family

**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh –** Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has urged the makers of the film “Pushpa 2” to have reached out to the family of a woman who died in a stampede during a screening earlier this month. The incident, which occurred on December 4th at RTC Crossroads in Hyderabad, resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and serious injuries to her eight-year-old son.

Kalyan stated that an earlier expression of condolences from the film’s producers, director, or cast could have prevented the situation from escalating. He believes a timely visit to the victim’s home would have shown support and empathy, potentially mitigating the controversy that followed.

Following the stampede, actor Allu Arjun, the star of “Pushpa 2,” was briefly arrested, and the film’s “Dammunte Pattukora” song was removed amid the public outcry. The Telangana government has since announced a ₹2 crore ex-gratia payment to the victim’s family.

While acknowledging the pain caused by the incident, Kalyan emphasized that the law applies equally to all, regardless of status. He also noted that while some believe the government could have handled the situation differently, legal processes were followed.
