**Mhow, Madhya Pradesh (December 30, 2024):** Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced today that India’s defence exports have reached a record ₹21,000 crore, a significant jump from ₹2,000 crore a decade ago. Speaking at the Army War College in Mhow, he revealed a target of ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029. This surge reflects India’s growing prowess in manufacturing and exporting Made-in-India defence equipment.
Mr. Singh highlighted the evolving nature of warfare, emphasizing the growing importance of mastering frontier technologies like AI, cyber warfare, and space warfare. He stressed the need for continuous adaptation in military training to counter these emerging threats, praising the Army War College for its commitment to updating its curriculum.
The Defence Minister also underscored the Modi government’s commitment to strengthening inter-service integration and jointness within the armed forces, aiming for enhanced efficiency and collaboration in facing future challenges. He encouraged officers to explore opportunities for greater integration within training programs across different military branches. He also emphasized the importance of “aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) for defence attaches working globally.
Mr. Singh’s visit included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Infantry Memorial and a prayer at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain.
