Mon Dec 30 06:02:16 UTC 2024: ## Jaishankar to Visit Qatar to Boost Bilateral Ties

**Doha, December 29** – Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will embark on a three-day official visit to Qatar, beginning December 30th. The trip aims to strengthen the already robust bilateral relationship between the two nations, focusing on key sectors including trade, investment, energy, and security.

During his stay until January 1st, Minister Jaishankar will meet with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Discussions will cover a wide range of topics, encompassing political cooperation, economic partnerships, cultural exchanges, and regional and international issues of mutual interest.

This visit builds upon a series of recent high-level engagements between India and Qatar. Just last month, Minister Jaishankar held talks with Qatari officials in both Doha and Bahrain. In October, the two countries concluded the fifth round of Foreign Office Consultations, exploring avenues for deeper collaboration in areas such as renewable energy, fintech, and technology. The strong relationship is further evidenced by a meeting between Minister Jaishankar and the Qatari Prime Minister in Saudi Arabia in September.

The large Indian community in Qatar, contributing significantly to the country’s development, underscores the deep-rooted friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. This visit is expected to further solidify and expand this already strong partnership.
