**New Delhi, Dec 30, 2024** – Delhi experienced an unusually warm start to its winter Sunday, with the minimum temperature reaching 10.3 degrees Celsius, 3.5 degrees above the seasonal norm. While morning air quality was categorized as ‘moderate’ (AQI 178), a 24-hour average AQI of 225 (‘poor’) was recorded by Sunday afternoon. Ten air quality monitoring stations reported ‘poor’ air quality, while the rest showed ‘moderate’ levels.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast smog and dense fog in most parts of the city, with very dense fog possible in isolated areas during the morning. Clear skies are anticipated later in the day, but smog or shallow fog is expected to return in the evening and night. The IMD predicts a high of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 9 degrees Celsius for Monday. High humidity (87%) was also reported in the morning.
