Fri Dec 27 11:20:42 UTC 2024: ## Stowaway Rides 250km Under Train in India

**JABALPUR, INDIA** – Railway workers in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, made a startling discovery Friday when they found a man hiding under a train carriage. The stowaway had travelled an incredible 250 kilometers (approximately 155 miles) – a journey of over four hours – from Itarsi, wedged between the wheels of the Pune-Danapur Express (train no 12149).

The man was discovered during a routine inspection of the AC-4 coach by the Carriage and Wagon Department. Unusual movements alerted staff, prompting the loco pilot to halt the train. The individual was found in the trolley section beneath the coach and subsequently handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Initial questioning suggests the man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, may be mentally challenged. He reportedly told authorities he lacked the funds to purchase a train ticket and resorted to this dangerous method of travel.

The RPF in Jabalpur is now investigating the incident to verify the man’s identity and determine the full circumstances behind his perilous journey.
