**New Delhi:** India is mourning the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday at AIIMS, Delhi. Tributes poured in from across the political spectrum and the globe following the announcement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, were among the prominent figures who paid their respects at Singh’s residence on Friday. The Union Cabinet also held a special meeting, observing a two-minute silence and adopting a condolence resolution in honour of the late leader, whom they hailed as an eminent statesman and distinguished leader.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi described Singh as a mentor and guide, reflecting the widespread sentiment of loss felt across the country. Condolences were also received from international leaders and governments, including those of the US, Canada, France, and Sri Lanka.
Singh’s final journey will begin from the All India Congress Committee headquarters at 9:30 am on Saturday.
