**GURUGRAM, INDIA** – The death of Simran, a popular radio jockey (RJ) from Jammu, has sent shockwaves through the community. The 26-year-old, known as “Jammu ki Dhadkan” (the heartbeat of Jammu), was found dead in her Gurugram apartment on Thursday. Police have handed over her body to her family after completing a Section 174 investigation, which indicates no foul play is currently suspected.
Simran, also a social media influencer, was reportedly engaged and set to marry in four months. According to Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Singh, family members stated she had been distressed in the days leading up to her death, though the specific cause of her distress remains undisclosed.
Simran had quit her job at Radio Mirchi two years ago and moved to Gurugram, where she co-owned a company with a friend, Himanshu, producing short films and advertisements. She lived with Himanshu and another individual in a rented apartment costing approximately ₹100,000 per month. Police report no complaints have been filed by family or others. Simran’s last Instagram post was 13 days ago; she had nearly 600,000 followers.
