**PALAKKAD, Dec 27, 2024** – The Swaralaya Samanwayam dance and music festival in Palakkad continued its captivating run on Friday evening with a mesmerizing performance by renowned Hindustani musician Pandit Uday Kumar Mallick. The Dhrupad maestro, founder of the Dhrupad Academy in New Delhi, transported the audience to a realm of musical bliss with his intricate raga renditions, showcasing his mastery of the Dhrupad tradition. He was accompanied by Shyam Mohan Kottayam on tabla and Hamza Harsh Valanchery on harmonium.

Following Mallick’s performance, the Noopur Performing Art Centre from Bengaluru presented a captivating Kathak dance recital titled ‘Bhakthi Nrutha Tharang’. The eight-member troupe, led by Hari and Chethana, enthralled the audience with their technical precision, emotional depth, and vibrant portrayal of Bhakti, the essence of devotion.

The festival continues on Saturday with performances by Tarana, an all-woman music band from Kochi, followed by an Odissi dance drama, “Siyaram,” by Madhulita Mohapatra’s ensemble from Bengaluru, and a Mohiniyattam recital by Parvathi Pradeep. The festival promises a diverse and rich cultural experience for attendees.
