**New Delhi, December 27, 2024** – Former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92. The nation is observing a seven-day period of mourning, with flags flown at half-mast and official events cancelled. Dr. Singh’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the political spectrum and internationally.

Dr. Singh, a renowned economist, served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. He is widely credited with architecting India’s economic liberalization in 1991 and guiding the country’s economic growth for over a decade.
