**Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu – December 27, 2024** – A 28-year-old man, identified as Suresh of Mettupalayam, was arrested by Sathyamangalam police following a public beating after he stole a mobile phone from a bus passenger. The incident occurred Thursday night at the Sathyamangalam bus stand.
Suresh allegedly stole the phone from a passenger alighting from a government bus. When he attempted to flee, the victim raised the alarm, leading to his apprehension by bystanders. The crowd subsequently beat Suresh before handing him over to the police.
Police reports indicate Suresh is believed to be part of a larger gang targeting passengers at the bus stand. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to apprehend the remaining gang members.
