Fri Dec 27 05:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Second Sky Harbor Airport Incident: Man Arrested After Altercation with Officer
**PHOENIX, AZ** – A 21-year-old man, Cole Nenon, was arrested at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on aggravated assault charges following an altercation with a police officer, Phoenix police confirmed late yesterday. This incident occurred shortly after the airport resumed operations following an earlier unrelated shooting and stabbing.
Nenon, who received a text message falsely claiming an active shooter situation, arrived at Terminal 4 armed with three firearms. He reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation with an officer stationed near the earlier crime scene, ignoring commands to stop. The officer subsequently apprehended Nenon. During the arrest, Nenon allegedly struck and spat on the officer.
Police recovered the three firearms. While Nenon’s actions followed a separate, earlier incident involving a shooting and stabbing at the same terminal, authorities stressed the two events are unrelated. The earlier incident prompted a temporary shutdown of airport operations. The airport has since resumed normal activity. Nenon is currently in custody and facing aggravated assault charges.
