**Gurugram, December 26, 2024** – Professor Emeritus Gattu Satyanarayana, of Osmania University, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Sociological Society at the 49th All India Sociological Conference held at BMU Munjal University. Professor Satyanarayana, a veteran academic with over four decades of experience, has significantly contributed to the field of sociology through his teaching, research, and publications.
His impressive body of work includes 10 books and nearly 100 articles on contemporary Indian society. He has also mentored 12 Ph.D. and 9 M.Phil. students, and successfully completed numerous research projects funded by the University Grants Commission and the Indian Council of Social Science Research.
