**Hyderabad, December 27, 2024** – A delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, including Rajya Sabha MPs, will attend the funeral of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the party announced. Led by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, the delegation will pay their last respects following the announcement of Mr. Singh’s death on Thursday night.

BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed deep grief, highlighting Mr. Singh’s crucial role in leading India out of a financial crisis during his tenure as Finance Minister under P.V. Narasimha Rao. Mr. Rao praised Mr. Singh’s path-breaking economic reforms and noted that Telangana’s formation occurred during his premiership.

Recalling his time as a colleague in the UPA-I government, Mr. Rao described Mr. Singh as a wealth of economic knowledge, whose actions spoke louder than words. He declared the former Prime Minister’s death a significant loss to the nation and extended condolences to his family. Other prominent BRS leaders also expressed their sorrow at the passing of Mr. Singh.
