**Bengaluru, December 27, 2024** – The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced extended services on its Purple and Green Lines to accommodate New Year’s Eve celebrations. Late-night revelers will benefit from trains running until 2 a.m. on January 1st, 2025, with the last train from Majestic station departing at 2:40 a.m.

To manage expected crowds, the M.G. Road metro station will be closed for entry and exit from 11 p.m. on December 31st. Passengers are advised to use nearby Trinity and Cubbon Park stations instead. A special ₹50 return journey paper ticket will be available from 8 a.m. on December 31st at all stations, in addition to regular QR code tickets and metro cards.

BMRCL also issued a boarding advisory to alleviate overcrowding. Passengers heading towards Whitefield and Silk Institute are encouraged to use Trinity station, while those going to Challaghatta and Madavara should use Cubbon Park station. Trains will operate at 10-minute intervals from 11 p.m. onwards until the service concludes.
