Fri Dec 27 14:11:28 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Capital Embraces Drone Technology for Greener Future

**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** The Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) has launched a pioneering initiative to enhance the ecological landscape of the Andhra Pradesh capital city, Amaravati, utilizing drone technology for nutrient spraying on trees.

The pilot project, inaugurated Friday by ADC Chairperson and Managing Director D. Lakshmi Parthasarathi, saw drones deployed to spray micro- and macro-nutrients along a 1-kilometer stretch of the Seed Access Road. The drones, capable of 25 minutes of continuous operation and speeds up to 36 kmph, efficiently target flowering plants and trees, particularly the visually striking Tabebuia rosea, with formulas like 13-0-45 (Multi-K).

This innovative approach promises a significant boost in efficiency. The ADC estimates that drone spraying yields results 20 times better than traditional methods, while also minimizing water and nutrient waste.

The success of the pilot program has prompted the ADC to expand the initiative to cover the greenery along 35 major roads currently under construction in Amaravati. The project aligns with the city’s vision of becoming a green capital and is being touted as a benchmark for sustainable urban development.

“This initiative showcases Amaravati’s commitment to blending technology with environmental preservation,” stated the ADC Managing Director. The project is expected to significantly improve the health and vibrancy of Amaravati’s urban forestry.
