**Bulawayo, Zimbabwe:** Zimbabwe has set a new national record in the ongoing first Test match against Afghanistan in Bulawayo. Winning the toss and electing to bat, Zimbabwe amassed a colossal 586 runs, surpassing their previous highest Test score of 563/9 achieved against the West Indies in Harare in 2001.
Three Zimbabwean batsmen scored centuries in the innings. Sean Williams top-scored with 154 runs, while Craig Ervine contributed 104 and Brian Bennett remained unbeaten on 100. Ryan Burl also added a valuable 68 runs, and T. Chatara 46.
For Afghanistan, Allah Jan Ghafar was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets. Naveed Zadran, Zia-ur-Rehman, and Zahir Khan each claimed two wickets apiece, while Azmatullah Omarzai took one.
At stumps on day two, Afghanistan were struggling at 95/2 in reply, still a massive 491 runs behind. Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi are at the crease.
