HYDERABAD, INDIA – Film producer Dil Raju announced today that the entire Telangana film industry will meet with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule.” Raju, chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, will act as a liaison between the industry and the government.
The meeting follows a stampede on December 4th, triggered by the enthusiastic response to actor Allu Arjun’s appearance at the premiere. The incident resulted in one death and several injuries, including a child who remains hospitalized but is showing signs of recovery. Raju confirmed that the child has been taken off life support. Another victim, Sri Tej, was also seriously injured but has been removed from a ventilator two days prior. Sri Tej’s mother tragically lost her life in the incident.
Raju previously met with CM Reddy to discuss support for the victims’ families, assuring that both the film industry and the government are committed to providing all necessary assistance. The injured child’s father expressed gratitude for the support received from Allu Arjun and the Telangana government.
Allu Arjun himself was questioned by Hyderabad police in connection with the incident and subsequently released on bail. The investigation into the stampede continues.
