DHARMAPURI, INDIA (December 26, 2024) – Police in Paapireddipatty have arrested six individuals for the kidnapping of a 68-year-old former school correspondent. Semmuni, the victim, had reportedly transferred management of his matriculation school to Amirthavalli for ₹15 lakh (approximately $18,000 USD). The school, despite having 101 students, remained unregistered.
Amirthavalli, after repeated attempts to secure registration or a refund, filed a police complaint when Semmuni failed to cooperate. In response, Amirthavalli’s son, Iniyavan, and five accomplices abducted Semmuni from a local temple. The kidnapping was captured on CCTV footage, leading to the swift interception of the vehicle and the release of Semmuni. All six suspects are now in custody.
