**Hyderabad, India** – Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2: The Rule” continues its box office dominance, surpassing ₹1,109.85 crore in India within its first three weeks. The film saw a significant surge in collections over the Christmas period, adding to its already impressive ₹725.8 crore first-week and ₹264.8 crore second-week totals. The Telugu version alone contributed ₹316.3 crore, while the Hindi version raked in a massive ₹716.65 crore. The film’s strong performance extended to other regional languages, with Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions generating a combined ₹55.35 crore, ₹14.07 crore, and ₹7.48 crore, respectively. High theatrical occupancy rates of over 40% for both Telugu and Hindi versions further solidified its success.
However, the film’s triumph is overshadowed by a tragic incident. Allu Arjun was questioned for over three hours by Hyderabad police on Tuesday regarding a stampede at a premiere on December 4th that resulted in a woman’s death. Police are investigating the incident and have warned against the spread of misinformation and misleading videos related to the stampede on social media. They have already released a video detailing their findings.
Directed by Sukumar, “Pushpa 2: The Rule” is the sequel to the 2021 hit “Pushpa: The Rise,” continuing the story of sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj and his ongoing conflict with SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and others.
