Thu Dec 26 13:40:00 UTC 2024: **No. 23 Missouri Tigers Head to Music City Bowl to Face Iowa Hawkeyes**

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 23 Missouri Tigers will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl on Monday, December 30th, at Nissan Stadium. The game, marking Missouri’s 38th bowl appearance, kicks off at 1:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN.

This will be the 14th meeting between the two teams, with Missouri holding a slight 7-6 advantage in the all-time series. Their last encounter, a 27-24 Iowa victory in the 2010 Insight Bowl, serves as the only previous bowl matchup between the programs.

For Missouri, a win would secure their eighth 10-win season and mark the first time they’ve achieved three consecutive wins in back-to-back seasons since 1913-14. It would also give them back-to-back Top 25 finishes for the first time since 2013-14. The Tigers finished the 2024 regular season with a 9-3 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the SEC.

Missouri boasts a strong defense, ranking highly nationally in several key categories. Defensive end Johnny Walker Jr. enters the bowl game with a remarkable six-game sack streak. Offensively, quarterback Brady Cook, set to become the first MU quarterback to start in four consecutive bowl games, is closing in on several program passing records.

Iowa, with an 8-4 record and a 6-3 Big Ten conference mark, will present a tough challenge. The game promises a compelling matchup between two historically significant college football programs. Fans are encouraged to wear black in support of the Tigers.
