**Vijayawada, December 26, 2024** – Andhra Pradesh is spearheading a major push for energy conservation and climate change mitigation, aligning with a nationwide movement initiated by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand announced the state’s commitment to implementing robust energy efficiency measures, boosting green energy production, and significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This initiative is central to the state’s participation in Mission LiFE.
The announcement followed a meeting with BEE media advisor (South) A. Chandra Sekhar Reddy during National Energy Conservation Week. Mr. Vijayanand emphasized the state government’s dedication to combating the negative effects of climate change and attracting substantial investment in energy efficiency programs. A poster highlighting the critical link between addressing climate change and environmental balance was released at the meeting. A.P. State Energy Conservation Mission CEO B.A.V.P. Kumar Reddy was also present. The event concluded with a ceremony recognizing a woman officer with the A.P. State Energy Conservation Award.
