**Khammam, Telangana, December 26, 2024** – The Communist Party of India (CPI) has called for a united front of Left parties to combat what it describes as the threat posed by the BJP-RSS combine to India’s secular fabric and federal structure. This call was made by CPI State secretary and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao at a rally and meeting commemorating the CPI’s 99th Foundation Day in Khammam.
Rao emphasized the need for a Left alternative to bourgeois parties, arguing that such unity is crucial to safeguarding democracy from communal and capitalist forces. The rally, which marked the beginning of nationwide centenary celebrations, drew a large crowd of CPI members and supporters.
Rao highlighted the CPI’s historical role in advocating for the working class and spearheading movements like the Telangana Peasants’ Armed Struggle and the separate Telangana movement. Several senior CPI leaders were felicitated at the event.
