Thu Dec 26 16:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Mysterious Chinese Stealth Fighter Jet Video Sparks Concerns in India
**NEW DELHI** – A video circulating on social media purports to show China’s newest stealth fighter jet, a tailless aircraft believed to be a sixth-generation design. The unconventional design, experts suggest, could render it virtually undetectable by conventional radar systems. This development has raised significant concerns in India, which currently lacks a comparable stealth fighter capability.
The appearance of the video follows reports in May from NDTV showing China deploying its advanced J-20 stealth fighters within 150 kilometers of the India-China border in Sikkim. These deployments, near the strategically important Shigatse airbase, place the J-20s within striking distance of India’s Rafale fighter squadrons based in Hasimara, West Bengal. India currently counters the Chinese J-20 threat with its fleet of 36 Rafale jets.
The new, unnamed, tailless fighter jet, if confirmed as a sixth-generation aircraft, would represent a significant escalation in Chinese air power and pose a potentially unprecedented threat along the India-China border. Reports suggest China may have deployed as many as 250 J-20s, further emphasizing the growing disparity in stealth technology between the two nations. The Indian Air Force is currently without a stealth fighter in its inventory.
