Thu Dec 26 15:17:39 UTC 2024: **Woman Arrested for Orchestrating Murder and Delivery of Body as Parcel**
BHIMAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh – A shocking case involving the delivery of a dead body as a parcel has led to the arrest of three individuals in West Godavari district. Police have apprehended Sagi Revathi, the main conspirator, along with her husband, T. Siddharth Varma, and his girlfriend, Vijaya Lakshmi. The trio are accused of murdering Barre Parlaiah and sending his body to Revathi’s sister, Sagi Tulasi, disguised as an appliance delivery.
The incident came to light on December 19th when Tulasi, who had ordered appliances for her under-construction house, received a wooden box containing Parlaiah’s corpse instead. She immediately filed a police complaint, triggering a widespread investigation involving 15 teams.
Police investigations revealed that Revathi, motivated by a desire to seize her father’s substantial property (estimated at ₹2 crore), orchestrated the murder. Varma and Lakshmi allegedly strangled Parlaiah on December 17th and kept the body for two days before shipping it to Tulasi. The victim, described as an alcoholic with no family, was deliberately targeted for his vulnerability.
West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi stated that the trio planned to use the shocking delivery to intimidate Tulasi into signing over property documents, subsequently disposing of the body. Eluru Range IGP G.V.G. Ashok Kumar confirmed the arrests and stated that further investigations are underway to ascertain if other individuals were involved. The three accused are currently in custody and under interrogation.
