Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh – In a shocking turn of events, Undi police in West Godavari district are investigating a sensational murder case where a body was sent by parcel to a woman in Yendagandi village. Police suspect T. Siddharth Varma, alias Sridhar Varma, sent the parcel containing the body of Barre Parlaiah, a day laborer, as a threat to Sagi Tulasi over a property dispute.
According to an unnamed investigating officer, Varma allegedly lured Parlaiah, believing his family would not report him missing, to an isolated location, plied him with alcohol, and strangled him. Police believe the murder was meticulously planned, including the acquisition and use of a wooden box to transport the body.
West Godavari Superintendent of Police (SP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi stated that the investigation is underway to determine the involvement of Varma’s third wife, Vijaya Lakshmi, and any potential accomplices. Police are focusing on establishing the murder location, the number of individuals involved, the origin of the wooden box, and the escape route of the suspects. A search of Varma and Vijaya Lakshmi’s residences yielded a second wooden box similar to the one used in the crime, raising further questions for investigators.
Multiple police units, including those from Undi, Akiveedu, Kalla, Bhimavaram, Kaikalur, and the Central Crime Station and Cybercrime wings, are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. SP Asmi assures the public that the investigation is thorough and is exploring all avenues.
