Thu Dec 26 01:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Braces for Heavy Rainfall
**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh:** Andhra Pradesh is bracing for heavy rainfall over the next three days due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, predicting intense downpours particularly in the districts of Prakasam, Nellore, and Chittoor. Coastal districts are expected to be most affected.
Over the past few days, several districts have already experienced significant rainfall. In the past 24 hours, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Bobbili, and Visakhapatnam districts recorded rainfall of 3-4 centimeters. The IMD forecasts that the next 24 hours will bring heavy rain to northern Andhra Pradesh, including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, and Nellore.
While the depression is expected to weaken in the next 24 hours, the heavy rainfall is likely to persist. The IMD attributes the continuous heavy rain to a series of low-pressure systems. Temperatures in several coastal areas, including East Godavari, Kakinada, Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Tuni, Machilipatnam, Nellore, and Tirupati have dropped by 3-7 degrees Celsius. Dense fog has also been reported in the mornings.
The IMD advises residents to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
