Kozhikode, Kerala: Eminent Malayalam author M.T. Vasudevan Nair passed away last night at the age of 91. He breathed his last at Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode, where he had been admitted on July 15th following respiratory issues that later led to cardiac arrest.
A two-day state mourning has been declared in Kerala following the demise of the literary giant. His funeral will be held at 5 PM today at the Mavur Road crematorium. Numerous dignitaries, including actor Mohanlal, have visited his residence in Kozhikode to pay their last respects. The Chief Minister is also expected to arrive shortly.
M.T. Vasudevan Nair, a novelist, journalist, screenwriter, and director, was a prolific and influential figure in Malayalam literature and Indian cinema.
