**Durg, Chhattisgarh:** Schools across Durg district observed Veer Bal Diwas (Brave Child Day) on January 26th with colorful programs, commemorating the martyrdom of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The most elaborate celebration took place at Khalsa Public School.
The District Education Officer attended several events, educating students about the significance of the day and sharing stories of bravery, including those of Prime Minister’s National Child Award recipients. The officer emphasized the importance of duty and commitment for all children. Winning students in various competitions were also awarded prizes.
Khalsa Public School’s chairman, Rajendra Pal Singh, highlighted the sacrifice of Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sons, who refused to compromise their faith and were brutally martyred by the Mughals. Singh praised Prime Minister Modi’s decision to establish Veer Bal Diwas, emphasizing the valuable lessons learned from historical events and the sacrifices made.
