**Lucknow, India** – Uttar Pradesh is experiencing a significant weather shift, with heavy rain, hail, and dense fog predicted across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for dense fog in 31 districts and thunderstorms with rain in 35 districts on Thursday, December 26th. This unsettled weather is expected to continue on December 27th and 28th, affecting a total of 66 districts over the three-day period.
The IMD specifically warned of dense fog in districts including Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, and many others in the eastern and western parts of the state. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and hail is likely in over 35 districts, including Mathura, Agra, and Aligarh, with lighter showers predicted for areas around Ghaziabad and Meerut. Wind speeds of 30-40 km/h are also anticipated.
The severe weather is attributed to a western disturbance affecting the region. Bulandshahar recorded the lowest temperature on Wednesday at 8°C, while Sonbhadra experienced the highest at 25°C. Lucknow saw light rain on Wednesday, with a high of 25°C and a low of 13°C. Thursday’s forecast for Lucknow includes dense fog in the mornings and evenings.
Meteorologist Dr. Atul Singh stated that the western disturbance will likely cause further rain, lightning, and hail on December 27th and 28th. The unpredictable weather has caused widespread disruption and discomfort across Uttar Pradesh, with many residents struggling with the cold conditions.
