**Thane, Maharashtra – December 25, 2024** – Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, 52, is recovering well after developing a fever while hospitalized for a urinary tract infection. Admitted to Akruti Hospital near Bhiwandi on December 21st, Kambli’s condition is now stable, according to Dr. Vivek Trivedi, head of his medical team.

While initial examinations revealed blood clots in Kambli’s brain, necessitating an MRI, the procedure has been postponed due to the fever. Doctors expect to move him out of the ICU within one to two days and discharge him in approximately four days. Dr. Trivedi stated that Kambli’s condition was critical four days ago due to a severe infection, but the prompt medical intervention has proven effective.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his son, Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde, have offered support. Shrikant Shinde’s foundation pledged Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance, and the Deputy Chief Minister’s office sent an official to check on Kambli’s well-being. Kambli expressed gratitude for their assistance and hopes to personally thank the Deputy Chief Minister upon his release.
