**Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh –** Increased security measures are in place in Bhopal’s old city following a clash between two groups on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. The incident, which resulted in at least five injuries, stemmed from a previous altercation on Sunday involving motorcycle riders.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Priyanka Shukla, the initial dispute involved underage motorcycle riders. Three individuals were arrested on Sunday, while two others remained at large. The Tuesday clash erupted after one of the absconding boys was spotted in the Jahangirabad area. A mob of 25-30 people, armed with sticks and swords, attacked him, vandalized his home, and assaulted family members.
Police have since apprehended the remaining two individuals from the original Sunday incident. However, those involved in Tuesday’s violence are still being sought. DCP Shukla stated that charges of rioting, housebreaking, assault, and other offenses have been filed. While five to six people sustained minor injuries, the situation is reported to be under control, with police responding swiftly to the clash.
