Wed Dec 25 03:48:26 UTC 2024: ## India Crushes West Indies by 115 Runs in Women’s ODI

Vadodara, India (December 25, 2024) – India secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match women’s ODI series against the West Indies with a resounding 115-run victory on Tuesday. Harleen Deol’s impressive maiden century (115) spearheaded India’s dominant performance at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

India, winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a massive 358/5 in 50 overs, equaling their highest ever ODI total (previously achieved against Ireland in 2017). This also marks the highest ever ODI score against the West Indies. Deol’s innings was studded with 16 fours in a 103-ball knock. She formed crucial partnerships with Smriti Mandhana (52), Pratima Rawal (76), and Jemimah Rodrigues (52), who also contributed half-centuries. Mandhana and Rawal started the innings with a century partnership. Rodrigues’ quickfire 52 off 36 balls in the later overs further boosted the total.

In response, the West Indies were bowled out for 243 in 46.2 overs. Captain Hayley Matthews top-scored with 106 runs, hitting 13 fours, but lacked significant support from her teammates, except for Shemaine Campbelle’s 38. Their 112-run partnership for the fifth wicket provided some resistance.

Priya Mishra led the Indian bowling attack with 3 wickets for 49 runs. Deepti Sharma, Titas Sadhu, and Pratima Rawal each claimed two wickets.

The series concludes with the third ODI on December 27th, also in Vadodara.
