**New Delhi** – Ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal today announced a major initiative to provide 24-hour water supply across the national capital. The project has already commenced in Rajendra Nagar, with a city-wide rollout planned soon.
This announcement follows a string of welfare schemes launched by the AAP in recent weeks. These include the Sanjeevani Yojana, offering free medical treatment to Delhi residents aged 60 and above. Registration for this scheme, which is projected to benefit 20-25 lakh senior citizens, has begun in Jangpura.
Another key initiative, the Mahila Samman Yojana, providing a monthly allowance of Rs 2,100 to women in Delhi, has reportedly seen a massive response, with 2.5 lakh registrations within hours of launch. The AAP also announced the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship for Dalit students, though details remain scarce.
These welfare pledges come as the AAP, which secured a landslide victory in the 2020 elections, gears up for the next electoral battle against the BJP. With the BJP having won only eight seats last time, both parties are intensifying their campaigns to win over Delhi’s voters.
