Wed Dec 25 01:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Heavy Rains Threaten Chittoor District Due to Bay of Bengal Low Pressure

**Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, December 25, 2024** – Chittoor district is bracing for heavy rainfall in the next two days due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of strong winds and heavy downpours.

Light showers accompanied by chilly winds were reported in Sullurpet early Tuesday morning. The IMD predicts that this will intensify, leading to heavy rainfall and strong winds over the next 48 hours.

The low-pressure system is currently moving closer to the coast, causing cloudy skies and strong winds. Sea conditions are rough, with wind speeds reaching 55 kilometers per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.

Near Govindapallem and Srinivasasatram villages in Kota mandal, the sea turned turbulent on Tuesday, forcing fishermen to halt their activities. The IMD is closely monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as needed.
