**San Francisco, Dec 24, 2024** – Amidst growing international concern over violence against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with Bangladesh’s interim government Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, on Monday. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to protecting the human rights of all citizens regardless of religious affiliation, according to a White House statement.

The call follows recent statements by Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar urging the White House to address the issue forcefully. Thanedar called for the US to pressure Yunus to fulfill his pledge to restore peace and equality in Bangladesh.
