**Washington, D.C.** – Former President Bill Clinton, 78, was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever, his office announced.

According to a statement released by Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, the former president is in good spirits and receiving excellent care. While Urena did not detail Clinton’s condition, an anonymous source close to the former president told NBC News that the situation is not considered urgent.

Clinton has a history of health challenges, including a five-night hospital stay in 2021 for sepsis stemming from a urological infection, and heart surgeries in 2004 and 2010. He has publicly discussed adopting a mostly vegan diet as part of lifestyle changes aimed at improving his health.

Despite his health concerns, Clinton remains a prominent figure in Democratic politics, continuing to advocate for various diplomatic and humanitarian causes. He recently addressed the Democratic National Convention in August.
