**New Delhi, December 24, 2024** – A thick fog blanketed the Indian capital on Tuesday, with the minimum temperature reaching a relatively mild 9.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees above the seasonal average. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a light drizzle throughout the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 19 degrees Celsius.
Despite the slightly warmer temperatures, air quality remains a serious concern. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 398, placing it firmly in the “very poor” category, a slight improvement from Monday’s 406. High humidity levels of 100% were also reported. The IMD and Central Pollution Control Board continue to monitor the situation.
